Ah yes, in the 2nd battle of Dartroux (1073-1075) the Saxons used catapults, or more precicely trebuchettes, against the massed trampolines of the Gauls.
Although trampolines were limited in their use as an offensive weapon, they did allow the Gauls to jump really really high.
It is not clear if this helped at all but it gave rise to the term 'dead as a bouncing Gaul' which never really caught on.
Which is why you never see it on medieval T-shirts.
